Overall, pelvic pain is a serious and sometimes complicated problem. This pain is typically caused by adhesions or scarring in the pelvis as well as abnormal processes that may occur within the abdomen, known as endometriosis. This pain can be experienced before, during, or even throughout the entire month of a woman’s menstrual cycle; but when is the pain enough to seek care and treatment? If your pelvic pain is constant and consistent and is interfering with your daily life, it’s time to get help!

Jersey Shore University Medical Center is now able to utilize modern technology and treat most pelvic pain occurrences using Robotic Surgery. Our expert team of surgeons currently operates the da Vinci® Surgical System, the most advanced robotic platform used in Robotic Surgery offered in any community.

This advanced system allows patients to be fully treated for pelvic pain with just one surgery and smaller incisions. This technology reduces the risk of injury to the intestinal tract, bladder, blood vessels, and nerves, as well as reduces the risk of any infectious illnesses.

The da Vinci® Surgical System permits causes of pelvic pain to be approached more easily as well as safely. Utilizing this Robotic technique will minimize patients post-operatively pain and the best part is patients can return home the same day or within 24 hours of surgery!
