For Rebecca Cipriano, M.D., maintaining the trust of patients across two counties, multiple hospitals and more than 15 years isn’t a responsibility to be taken lightly.
After all, Cipriano says, from the moment someone walks through the doors of Healthy Woman OB/GYN, they are not just a patient, they are part of the family.
“Our patients and our providers have grown together, learned together, built families together,” Cipriano says. “There is no question, they are a family to us.”
Now, Dr. Cipriano and her Healthy Woman family are being welcomed home by her other “extended family “- the newly rebranded family of hospitals of Hackensack Meridian Health.
It’s a homecoming in the truest sense for Dr. Cipriano, who began her career in 2001 with Meridian out of Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Riverview Medical Center. Dr. Cipriano and the Healthy Woman practice eventually left Meridian to join CentraState Healthcare System, but earlier this year returned to what is now Hackensack Meridian Health.
Dr. Cipriano says this Hackensack Meridian Health “homecoming” could not have come at a better time.
“We’re really excited to be a part of the new Hackensack Meridian Health,” Cipriano says. “This really allows us to utilize every service and subspecialty Hackensack Meridian has to offer. There are services here unavailable anywhere else, and now we’re truly able to offer the most options and the best possible care to our patients.”
Among these many services, one in particular Dr. Cipriano says she’s most excited to be a part of is the Level III nursery located at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, one of the few state-designated Level III nurseries specializing in the care of high-risk newborns.
Jersey Shore’s state designated Level III High Risk Perinatal Center and neonatal intensive care unit together provide the highest level of care in Monmouth/Ocean counties to critically-ill newborns and those at risk of complications after birth.
With offices currently in Freehold, Colts Neck and Jackson, Healthy Woman offers maternity options that include water births, midwives, natural births, as well as nurse practitioners and counseling services.
According to Dr. Cipriano, Healthy Woman also offers patients prenatal coordinator and concierge to help answer any questions they may have throughout pregnancy.
“There’s no worse feeling for a patient than to feel like they’re not being listened to - that their needs aren’t being met,” she says. “Again, our patients are family to us, every patient, every woman and every family is different, with different needs. It’s important to us to be able to offer every possible option, and now, with Hackensack Meridian Health, we’re able to do that.
