Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL) is defined as the loss of 2 or more clinically recognized pregnancies (pregnancy seen on an ultrasound test). Two percent of couples experience 2 or more pregnancy losses in their reproductive lives. Experiencing a miscarriage is emotionally devastating and can be very painful physically. Many couples feel hopeless when they have had a second loss and feel they will never be successful at carrying a pregnancy to term.
